I haven't cracked this one yet — but the brilliant team at Fifteensquared have:

SPIN (a bowling technique in cricket), then an anagram (ungainly) of STYLE containing (limiting) R (abbreviation for runs, in cricket scoring). For the definition, maiden = spinster = unmarried woman, rather than the cricket definition of an over in which no runs are scored.
