I haven't cracked this one yet — but the brilliant team at Fifteensquared have:

Reverend Spooner might pronounce PORKIES as KOR PIES which sounds like CORE [essential] + PEAS [vegetables])  When you say PORKIES the ending sounds like EASE rather than ISE so I think PEAS is OK for Spooner’s pronunciation.
