Depth vessel, as in the hadal zone? (4)

I haven't cracked this one yet — but the brilliant team at Fifteensquared have:

D (abbreviation for depth) + ARK (Noah’s boat in the Old Testament = vessel). Hadal zone = the deepest part of the ocean, in trenches on the ocean floor, well beyond the reach of sunlight.
