I haven't cracked this one yet — but the brilliant team at Fifteensquared have:

SON (disciple = a follower of a particular teacher) reversed (turned), containing (to welcome) VITIATE (to corrupt or spoil). Novitiate = a novice (neophyte), or the state of being one.
