I haven't cracked this one yet — but the brilliant team at Fifteensquared have:
EAGLE (in golf, completing a hole in two fewer strokes than expected = a great score on the golf course) + homophone (sounded) of I’D. Sharp = eagle-eyed = paying attention to details. And if you are, you probably spotted a stray punctuation mark at the start of the clue – at least in the version I’m looking at. I think it’s just a mistake; it may be a 14d but there’s no obvious reason to link the two.
