Hobson's choice — with only sugar cubes? (4,2,2,4,2)

I haven't cracked this one yet — but the brilliant team at Times for the Times have:

slightly odd wordplay: if you use cubes rather than granulated sugar, you use lumps. Hobson’s choice refers to situations where you have no real choice.
