Possible pick-up points on crusades to empty planes (12)

I haven't cracked this one yet — but the brilliant team at Fifteensquared have:

RE (on = on the subject of) + QUESTS (crusades) + TO (from clue text) + P [lane] S without the inner letters (empty). Locations on a bus route (or train stations) where the driver stops only if a passenger wants to get on or off.
