Student cutting film about pig iron maybe beginning to get friendly (9)

I haven't cracked this one yet — but the brilliant team at Fifteensquared have:

L (as in L-plate = learner= student) inserted into (cutting) BABE (a film about a pig, based on the children’s book The Sheep-Pig by Dick King-Smith), with CLUB (golf club, for example an iron) at the beginning. Descriptive of a sociable person who would get on well in a social club.
