ME inserted into TIP (bank, as a verb = of an aircraft, to tilt sideways), then IE (i.e. = abbreviation for Latin id est = that is) + end letters (extremes) of C [onservativ] E . A definition by example, though that’s not indicated: a watch is an example of a timepiece, but many timepieces are not watches.
